           Ball Handling and Dribbling Confidence

 

Dribbling and controlling the ball is a skill that can be practiced alone and is separate from the other ball skills on the court. Ballhandling, however, involves knowledge of the game and integrates dribbling, passing and decision-making.

           Footwork and Ball Control

Footwork is an essential building block for becoming a great basketball player. Having great footwork is vital on offense and defense, it sets up passes, it helps you get off jumpers, and it keeps your player in front of you.

           Passing and Receiving

 

Passing and Receiving are a very important part of a Basketball game! A successful team makes strong and accurate passes, and always catches the ball. 

           Rebounding

 

Rebounding is one of the most important aspects of winning basketball games. Offensive rebounding gives your team extra chances, and free throw opportunities, and frustrates the defense. Good rebounders understand the game and personnel. They study who shoots, when and from where.

           Screening

 

A great basketball teams set very good screens. Screens will open up your offense in many ways. It doesn't matter if you primarily use a ball screen offense or an open post offense. 

           Shooting

 

Shooting is a critical part of the game and it requires excellent mechanics. If you're a good basketball shooter, the coach will find a spot for you on the floor.
